A/W Trend Report: Clothes Show Live

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Last week we visited the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and we have compiled what we think were the top ten key trends…

1.ANIMAL PRINTS:

girls fashion animal prints

Lots of cute all over conversational animal prints ranging from birds and butterflies to galloping horses!

2. SHORTS:

girls fashion shorts

Denim shorts are still HUGE but we also spotted lots of colour and some print going on.

3.LEOPARD PRINT:

girls fashion leopard print

Leopard print is still everywhere! Mostly in the traditional colourways but we did also spot this great red and black blouse as an interesting new twist.

4.CHUNKY KNITS:

girls fashion chunky knits

Chunky knit cardies in biscuit and tan seemed to be the favoured way to keep warm! Along with the other key knitwear trend…

5. NORDIC:

girls fashion nordic knits

This Nordic design is perfect for this time of year and looks great not just on jumpers and cardigans but also works on leggings and mini skirts!

6. MOTIF TEES

girls fashion motif tees

We spotted quite a few motif t.shirts with many featuring bands from the past such as the Beatles and Blondie.

7. BLOUSES:

girls fashion blouses

Probably one of the biggest trends we spotted after denim shorts were blouses and chiffon seemed to be the fabric of choice!

Finally we spotted a couple of accessory trends at the show, these were:

8: SKINNY BELTS:

girls fashion skinny belts

Worn tied at the waist we spotted lots of skinny belts.

9. PATTERNED TIGHTS

girls fashion patterned tights

Stars, spots and floral designs seemed to be the most popular designs.

10: CHUNKY BOOTS/DMs:

girls fashion chunky boots

Worn with everything from leggings to dresses the DMs trend is still going strong!

So did we miss anything??!! Let us know if you agree or disagree with our top ten trends!

These are some of our fav pieces, which are all available to buy on the Galibardy website and the prices are really reasonable starting at just £7 for a ring and £10 for a necklace, fingers crossed some these will be in our Christmas stockings this year!

Hello everyone!

We know its been a while since you last heard from us so this is to make up for lost time! Over the past few months we have been super busy! Here is a round up of what we have been up to…

We have been getting some really great press coverage lately which has been very exciting!! Our crop sweats seem to have been a real winner…

We also took part in The Clothes Show London in June which was a fab opportunity for us to say hi to all our lovely customers and to check out the latest trends on display. Our June ‘Outfit of the Month’ was snapped here so get in touch if this is you:

We have also been really busy working away on the Autumn/Winter collection which is now up on the website so make sure you have your say on which styles get to go on sale and get voting for your favs!

Happy New Year!

Friday, January 1st, 2010

Well 2009 has been an exciting year for Connected Generation!
From launching the brand to seeing our designs on sale at The Clothes Show Live and on ASOS.com a lot has happened over the past 12 months.
2010 looks set to be just as exciting with plans for the label to be stocked in a major London flagship within the next few months!!!

We are now working on the Spring/Summer 2010 range, our trend spotters have been working hard to capture all the emerging trends out there. Here is what we think are going to be the key looks for early 2010:

In terms of prints florals are still dominating.

FLORALS:

Spots and stripes are also set to be big and work well with the emerging nautical trend.

SPOTS N STRIPES:

NAUTICAL:

Two key fabrics we spotted were denim and lace with shirts being a popular way to wear denim.

DENIM:

LACE:

In terms of silhouette bodycon is still hot with mini skirts being a key item.

BODYCON:

Also emerging is the cropped t shirt and skater skirts.

CROPPED Ts:

SKATER SKIRTS:

So that’s what we think are going to be the key looks for next season but we need to know what YOU think, give us your comments or upload pics to the gallery of any trends you have spotted that you think will be big for spring.

Finally we just want to say a huge thanks to everyone that has helped and supported us in 2009 and wish everyone a fantastic 2010!

We’re hoping to offer something a bit different to the world of fashion by encouraging YOU the customers to get involved in every aspect of the business.

We send our team of trend spotters to as many clubs, gigs and festivals as possible but we also need you to let us know what’s out there so if you think you’ve discovered the next Justice or Banksy send a message and let us know!

We have also taken up a stall at London’s super trendy Backyard Market. It’s on every Sunday, so pop along and say hello. That’s it for now, hope you enjoy the site!  X
